About the Editor & Host

My name is Joshua Sommer. Currently serving Victory Baptist Church as her pastor, I am also the founder of The Baptist Broadcast (TBB). The Broadcast is almost exclusively focused on the theology of the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1677/89). My highest intention for this project is the resourcement of historical confessional doctrine. Secondarily, you will often find that I will sometimes write or speak to practical issues in an attempt to apply confessional doctrine in a way that (hopefully) casts the reader’s (or listener’s) attention toward God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Our Confession begins with the principle of redemptive knowledge (Scripture in ch. 1) and the principle of Being (God in ch. 2). These two principles will, therefore, figure into TBB as foundational points of interest. When these two principles are confused, diminished, misunderstood, or misapplied, the rest of our Christian religion falls under the heavy hand and deconstructing eye of Enlightenment skepticism. It behooves us, then, to get God and His Word right. And why wouldn’t it? Is not our Triune God Himself our chief end?

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God…”
